08 2010 FIFA World Cup Game mode
The new 2010 FIFA World Cup Game mode for EA SPORTS™ FIFA Online 2 brings the 2010 FIFA World Cup right to your computer screen. Featuring a full roster of 2010’s World Cup Finalists plus Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and China, you can choose to play against the computer or your friends for the World Cup.
08>1 Introduction

There are two competition modes for you to choose from – the single player PvE (Player versus Engine) mode and the multiplayer PvP (Player versus Player) Mode.

 

You will earn a different set of experience points (W Points after each match in the 2010 FIFA World Cup game mode.

You can earn points at a faster rate when you play a team of a lower rating.
Rewards & Contract Renewal

Bonus items will be given whenever you achieve the next W manger level, ranging from Energy Drinks to one W Player Uniform Card.

Players in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Game mode will not experience growth or virtual uniform effects. Therefore, there will be no contract renewal fees required for all players. In relation, there will be no LP rewards given after each match.
Likewise, the Player Transfer market is not available in this game mode.

Entering 2010 FIFA World Cup game mode

Click on the “2010 FIFA World Cup” icon located at the top left of the screen to start.
Note: Star Points are required to play this game mode.

Entering PvE or PvP Mode

Click on “Participate” if you wish to play in the main lobby of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Game mode. After that, you will be directed to the Team Selection screen.

Note: If you have not finished your current PvE or PvP game, you will be redirected automatically to the respective lobby.

Transfer Market & Switching play modes

Unlike the AFC game mode, you can play without limitations in the 2010 FIFA World Cup game mode.

You may switch from the 2010 FIFA World Cup game mode to the other game modes such ‘League Play’ or ‘Fellowship’ without interruption to your current 2010 World Cup mode game.
However, the Player transfer market will not be activated in this game mode which means you will not be able to customise players in your team.

All the schedules for the selected teams will follow the actual 2010 World Cup schedule.
08>2 PvE game mode

Team Selection

Select 1 out of the 199 National teams featuring 2010 FIFA World Cup Finalists and Southeast Asian teams such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand & Vietnam to kick-start your South African adventure!

Note: You will earn more experience points per match when you choose to play a lower ranked team.

Group Formation

After selecting your desired team, you will arrive at the ‘Team Formation’ where it shows the groupings of your team and the other Finalists.
The draw will randomly place your team and the other 2010 FIFA World Cup finalists in real life into 8 different groups.

Note: If you have selected a team that did not qualify for the competition in real life, your selected team will replace one of the qualified teams from the same continent.

Group stage

A total of 3 games will be played in each group, and scores will be distributed as follows: win = 3 points, tied = 1 point, lose = 0 point.
The top 2 teams from each group will proceed to the round of 16.

Knockout stage (Tournament stage)

After the Group stages, the competition goes into the knock-out stages as shown in the bracket beside.
If the game ended in a draw after 90 minutes, it will proceed into extra time followed by penalty shoot-out.
08>3 PvP game mode

The PvP competition in the 2010 FIFA World Cup game mode pairs you automatically with another player in a similar stage; you do not need to wait for the room to be filled.

You may stop the tournament at any point in time and continue from where you left; you do not need to finish your quest for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in one sitting.

Select 1 out of 199 National teams featuring 2010 FIFA World Cup Finalists and Southeast Asian teams such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand & Vietnam in FIFA Online 2’s World Cup Mode.

Note: Earn more experience points per match when you choose to play a lower ranked team.

Click on 'Confirm' to proceed to the tournament.
